Connect your Google Play Console account to stream Android in-app purchases, paid app downloads, recurring subscriptions, and refunds into Indic8.

What You Need to Connect

To connect Google Play to Indic8, you will need 3 pieces of information:

Part 1: Enable Google Play Android Developer API in Google Cloud

Open Google Cloud Console

Go to the Google Cloud Console and make sure you are logged in with the owner account of your Google Play developer organization.

Select or Create your Linked Project

Select the Google Cloud project linked to your Google Play Console account from the project dropdown at the top of the page.

Enable the Google Play Android Developer API

  1. In the left navigation menu, go to APIs & Services > Library.
  2. In the search bar, search for: Google Play Android Developer API.
  3. Click on the API result.
  4. Click the blue Enable button.

Part 2: Create a Service Account and Download JSON Key

Go to Service Accounts in Cloud Console

In the left navigation menu, go to IAM & Admin > Service Accounts.

Create Service Account

  1. Click the + Create Service Account button at the top.
  2. In Service account name, enter: indic8-sync.
  3. In Service account ID, it will auto-populate (e.g. indic8-sync@your-project-id.iam.gserviceaccount.com).
  4. In Description, enter: Read-only financial sync for Indic8.
  5. Click Create and Continue.

Grant Cloud Storage Access (Optional for historical CSV reports)

Under Grant this service account access to project, select:
  • Role: Storage Object Viewer (or Basic > Viewer) Click Continue, then click Done.

Create and Download the JSON Private Key

  1. In the Service Accounts list, click on your newly created service account email (indic8-sync@...).
  2. Click the Keys tab near the top.
  3. Click Add Key > Create new key.
  4. Select JSON as the key type.
  5. Click Create. A JSON key file will immediately download to your computer.
  6. Keep this JSON file safe. You will upload it into Indic8.

Part 3: Invite the Service Account into Google Play Console

Google Cloud service accounts cannot access your Google Play sales data until you invite the email address inside the Google Play Console with the proper financial permissions.

Open Google Play Console Users & Permissions

  1. Log in to the Google Play Console.
  2. In the left sidebar, scroll down to the Settings group and click Users & permissions.

Invite New User

  1. Click the blue Invite new users button in the top right.
  2. In the Email address box, paste the service account email from Part 2 (e.g. indic8-sync@your-project.iam.gserviceaccount.com).

Set Account Permissions (Required for Revenue & Subscriptions)

Click on the Account permissions tab and check the boxes for:

Send Invitation

Click Invite user at the bottom right, then click Send invitation. The service account will be added immediately with active permissions.

Part 4: Find your Cloud Storage Reports Bucket ID (Optional)

If you want Indic8 to parse past historical sales reports:
  1. In Google Play Console, go to Download reports > Financial.
  2. Near the top of the screen, locate the Cloud Storage URI. It looks like:
  3. Copy the bucket ID: pubsite_prod_rev_01234567890123456789.

Part 5: Connect inside Indic8

  1. Open your Indic8 Dashboard and go to Settings > Integrations > Google Play.
  2. Upload or paste the contents of your downloaded Service Account JSON Key.
  3. Enter your Android Package Name (e.g. com.company.app).
  4. (Optional) Paste your GCS Reports Bucket ID.
  5. Click Connect Google Play.
Indic8 will test the credentials and start syncing your Android in-app sales and subscription revenue.
